The archaeological excavations of Pompeii offer visitors a journey into the unique and fascinating past. The city, buried in the ash and lava of the 79 AD eruption of Vesuvius, is incredibly well preserved. Walking among the ruins, tourists can admire the ancient cobbled streets, the ruins of houses, temples and forums, witnesses of daily life in the ancient city.

One of the most notable features of Pompeii are its extraordinarily detailed frescoes and mosaics, which can still be found on the walls of many homes and public buildings. These artistic masterpieces offer a direct look at the artistic and cultural practices of the time.

Some of the most poignant scenes visitors can witness are the plaster casts of the eruption victims, preserved in exactly the positions in which they died.

The site also offers an open-air museum, with artefacts preserved and displayed in their original locations, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the historic environment.
